LG Launches New OLED TV Lineup At CES 2023

As is well known, LG is taking the opportunity to talk about its new smart TV lineup with OLED technology at CES 2023. The new model series C3, G3, and Z3 including improved Evo panels, QMS-VRR, new chips, and webOS versions were confirmed.

The South Korean company remains true to its product cycle and is primarily focusing on the new C3, G3, and Z3 families for the Consumer Electronics Show 2023 in Las Vegas, while the cheaper OLED televisions of the A3 and B3 series are expected to follow at a later date. For the flagships now presented, LG promises more performance thanks to the new Alpha 9 Gen6 4K AI processor and Evo panels with higher brightness, color accuracy, clarity, and detail.

Artificial intelligence for image, sound, and user interface

Furthermore, LG focuses on the AI Picture Pro technology of the new chips, which have improved upscaling and should offer additional refinement by recognizing objects and faces in order to increase HDR quality. In addition, there is a 9.1.2 surround sound (virtual) optimized by AI Sound Pro via the integrated speaker system of the OLED TVs. In addition, there is again the talk of a Brightness Booster Max (G3 series), which is supposed to increase the brightness of the displays by 70 percent.

As usual, the company is putting its hands on a new WebOS that should offer even more personalization options with a new “All New Home” user interface. The AI Concierge delivers curated content based on the preferences of the respective user. It is also confirmed that the C3, G3, and Z3 OLED TVs will feature Dolby Atmos, Dolby Vision, and variable refresh rate (VRR) via HDMI 2.1a. The latter even with the QMS-VRR technology, in which a change of bit rate, Hz number, and Co. should no longer be accompanied by a black screen.

Availability and Prices

It is currently unclear when and at what prices the LG OLED C3, G3, and Z3 series will open in Germany. Information on this is expected later this week. In retrospect, however, one can assume that the new OLED televisions could appear in the course of spring 2023.
