Live lyrics are now available on YouTube Music’s Android app

Get ready to make the most of your singing sessions. According to some recent pieces of information, the live lyrics feature is now rolling out to the YouTube Music app. The new feature is said to be rolled out for both the Android and iOS versions of the app. Given the new update, the current Lyrics tab will receive a design overhaul. Lyrics are now presented in larger text. The text comes with improved spacing to help read out the lyrics. The current line of the lyrics will be highlighted in white, whereas the rest of the lyrics will be colored gray.

In the Live Lyrics tab, a blurred background featuring the album art can be seen.  Before the music begins, a note is used by YouTube Music to highlight the audio. Previously, the live lyrics feature was not supported for all songs. However, the feature is now available for other songs. The songs that don’t support the Live Lyrics feature come with the static lyrics version. On the other hand, the YouTube Music live lyrics feature is rolling out.

As per the information provided by 9To5Google, the live lyrics feature is available on v6.15 of the Android app and v6.16 of the iOS app. To get the live lyrics component of the app to function properly, you might want to force close it and try a few different songs. Be aware that this latest change does not include the Now Playing UI, which currently also undergoes testing and adds comments.

Well, the new feature is a nice addition by Google to the YouTube Music app. Since the app is now equally competitive with its rivals like Spotify. Do note that Apple Music and Spotify have supported live lyrics features for a long time now.
