Microsoft is now making video editing a common part of its Microsoft 365 package. All users of the Office environment should now have the opportunity to edit video clips without additional third-party tools.
The Redmonders work here with Clipchamp, a cloud application that was acquired in September 2021. This should help to get the editing of videos out of the professional corner with their complex tools and also enable laypeople to create good-looking clips. The software thus replaces the well-known MovieMaker.
Microsoft had already integrated access to the online editor into the Microsoft 365 Personal and Family subscriptions, which are aimed at private users. As the software group has now announced, Clipchamp will also be made part of the business tariffs of the office environment. The tool will therefore also be usable for users working with Microsoft 365 E3, Microsoft 365 E5, Microsoft 365 Business Standard, and Microsoft Business Premium licenses.

Users can quickly access Clipchamp’s drag-and-drop features to import and crop video, and remove unwanted gaps in footage. Likewise, the editor can speed up or slow down parts of the video. Of course, various filters, effects, and text overlays as well as transitions are also available to the user.
