Microsoft releases Surface wallpapers with a dark technology look
Microsoft brings new official Surface wallpapers to the desktop. The Surface Laptop Ultra-inspired motifs feature dark surfaces, metallic details and abstract hardware close-ups. The images are available for download via X.
Eight new Surface wallpapers
Microsoft has released eight new official wallpapers inspired by the new Surface range of devices and the Surface Laptop Ultra. The images shared via the official Surface account on X predominantly show metallic hardware against black backgrounds. Instead of depicting the components like a disassembled device, Microsoft relies on abstract, artistic close-ups. At the beginning of the year, before the Surface Laptop Ultra was introduced, a dark background image appeared. The new collection, on the other hand, comes directly from Microsoft. The images can also be used as desktop backgrounds on computers from other manufacturers. The motifs are currently only available via X.
Microsoft has not yet made them available on its official websites. Because the platform may compress images, the files will not necessarily be available in their full original quality. To download, open the desired image in the gallery, right-click and select “Save As”. Microsoft has released numerous Surface wallpapers in the past, some of which were later included in larger collections on the company’s website.
Microsoft introduced the Surface Laptop Ultra at the beginning of October. The device has been available since October 16th. The 15-inch notebook is designed for demanding graphics tasks and AI applications that run directly on the computer. To achieve this, Nvidia’s RTX Spark chip combines an Arm-based processor with a Blackwell RTX graphics unit and up to 128 gigabytes of shared RAM. Microsoft is primarily targeting the model at creative professionals and users who use local AI and 3D graphics.
