Microsoft Store Crashes Globally Due To An Unknown Glitch

Microsoft Store

It looks like Microsoft is currently struggling with a major failure. This time it concerns the Microsoft Store. A bug prevents users from loading or updating apps – and in many cases, the PC crashes when trying.

This is evident from the increased number of user reports. The exact background is not yet known, just this much: Windows 10 users around the world are currently having problems with the Microsoft Store. The failure or the error began a few hours ago. According to Bleeping Computer, the first error reports arrived shortly before 5 p.m. GMT.

Users reported that their computers got stuck when trying to download an app from the Microsoft Store. When trying to download apps from the store, users only see a loading animation or frozen page. Nothing happens when users hit the Get button to download apps or games.

When trying to access various functions of the Microsoft Store, such as the download area, the program gets stuck with a rotating loading symbol. At some point, according to the reports, the Microsoft Store hangs completely and can only be closed via the Task Manager or with ALT+F4.

Cause Not Known

When the crash occurs, an error message is recorded in the Event Viewer stating that the Windows Store is unable to interact with the operating system. It is still unclear what the problem is. It is not known whether this is planned maintenance, but it would be very unlikely. Some users speculate, however, that the problem is due to the latest cumulative Windows 10 update or that Microsoft’s Azure networks are currently having problems again. The azure outage is still the most likely scenario.
