Netflix will soon increase the prices of its ad-free subscription tiers

According to some recent pieces of information, Netflix will soon increase the prices of its ad-free subscription tiers. The new prices will be implemented several months after the Hollywood actors’ strike ends. In accordance with The Wall Street Journal’s report, the new prices will be first implemented in two regions i.e., the US and Canada.

Currently, there is no information on how much the prices will go up. In early 2022, the company increased the prices of its subscription tiers. As per the information, the Basic Netflix plan is priced at $9.99 per month, the Standard plan at $15.49 per month, and the Premium plan can be accessed by paying $19.99 per month.

Since then, Netflix has dropped the Basic option and replaced it with the Standard with Ads plan, which costs $6.99 a month. In addition to this, the company no longer allows multi-household sharing. If Netflix users want to share a plan, they must live in the same place; if not, they will each have to pay for a separate member slot.

In 2023, we observed a trend of increased prices, followed by several streaming services. The price of an ad-free Disney+ service will be $13.99 per month, whereas an ad-free Hulu plan will be available for $17.99 per month. Currently, there is no information on when Netflix intends to implement the new prices to its ad-free subscription tiers.
