However, it now appears that the company is on the verge of expanding the horizon for the platform. With TechCrush it was confirmed by TikTok that it is presently testing horizontal video feeds. This feature is being experimented with a select number of users across the globe.

The new mode is referred to as full-screen mode by the company. When the full-icon icon will be clicked, the phone will shift to horizontal mode. Given this mode, the UI elements like the ‘like’, comment, profile, share, repost, and other such buttons might disappear. However, this assumption requires official confirmation.

Furthermore, the feature may be equally applicable to already posted content. Thus, vertical videos could be viewed horizontally. If this happens this is going to be a huge shot at YouTube. Obviously, this feature was unique to YouTube that permitted the users to relax and enjoy a piece of long-form content.

Now because TikTok enables a video length of 10 min and a horizontal view, it could become a new version of YouTube in itself. It would be a big hit for YouTube since the company is trying hard to achieve big given its Shorts feature. As of now, we don’t know when this feature will be unveiled by TikTok.
