Nubia Red Magic 5G To Launch On April 21 In Europe With 144Hz Screen Refresh Rate

Earlier it was reported that Nubia will launch Red Magic 5G on March 12 however, due to Coronavirus complications the device launch was delayed but now Nubia will launch the RedMagic 5G in Europe on April 21. The cheapest version of the 5G mobile phone costs 580 euros. The device is particularly noteworthy for its screen: the display of the RedMagic 5G has a high refresh rate of 144Hz.

The higher refresh rate is expressed in a smoother display, for example when scrolling web pages. This also has advantages when it comes to gaming: With the RedMagic 5G, mobile games can be displayed at 144 frames per second which is only supported by a few titles at the moment.

However, a screen with a high refresh rate also has disadvantages: the battery is more heavily loaded. This is one of the reasons why most other cell phone manufacturers have opted for screens with a maximum of 120Hz for their top models. Even in this case, the full refresh rate is usually not used permanently. Instead, the phones often throttle to improve battery life. The Nubia RedMagic 5G has a decent 4500mAh battery.

The screen is an AMOLED panel with a resolution of 1080×2340 pixels at 6.65 inches. The ZTE manufacturer Nubia installs a Snapdragon 865 that is cooled by an active fan. On the back of the RedMagic 5G is a triple camera with a 64-megapixel main sensor. The selfie camera is located in the forehead on the front, the fingerprint scanner is housed on the side of the phone. The cheapest version of the RedMagic 5G has 8GB of RAM and 128GB of flash storage for 580 euros. For 650 euros you get a version with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage space. The smartphone runs on Android 10. This is classed as one of the best gaming phones available on the market with all loaded specifications needed for a gaming phone to play games for a longer period of time.
