OnePlus Partners With Hasselblad Confirmed
After all the preliminary information, the smartphone manufacturer OnePlus has now confirmed its new partnership with camera specialists Hasselblad: The OnePlus 9 with the new smartphone camera technology is also being prepared for the launch on March 23rd.

The most important thing: OnePlus has confirmed the long-rumoured partnership with Hasselblad. The Hasselblad camera specialists are known for finding solutions where others only see problems – and so in the 1960s, they built a special Hasselblad for the Apollo astronauts and their first moon landing.
OnePlus has now revealed what it is hoping for the partnership. This is initially set to run for three years, with OnePlus planning to invest 150 million US dollars in the expansion of smartphone photography.

New color matching and sensor calibration

According to the announcement, this includes software improvements for color matching and better sensor calibrations. The new solution will be called “Natural Color Calibration with Hasselblad” and will be offered specifically for future OnePlus devices, starting with the OnePlus 9 series. There will also be a Hasselblad Pro mode that allows users to adjust ISO, focus, exposure times and more in a new user interface and use a 12-bit RAW format.

Technical details
The announcement also provides some more details about the new technology. So the OnePlus 9 series will get a bespoke Sony IMX789 sensor. The “Hasselblad Camera for Mobile” will support HDR video recording, 4K 120fps and 8K 30fps. The actual OnePlus 9 launch event will take place on March 23rd.
