OpenAI introduces API for developers to build ChatGPT into apps
ChatGPT has taken the internet by storm since its release. But things don’t stop here. OpenAI is continuously working to introduce some new and advanced solutions with ChatGPT that can cater to a variety of audiences. Some new reports indicate that OpenAI has come forward with some APIs for developers. Interestingly, the new AI technologies could be utilized by any individual or organization for the improvement or development of products. Recently, Snapchat introduced My AI. It is an example of the initial products fueled by the ChatGPT API.
OpenAI declares that the ChatGPT API will be based on gpt-3.5-turbo AI model. It is the same model that is used for the chatbot itself. It will enable developers to combine an unmodified version of the tool into products. Side by side it will provide them with a chance to modify a few elements. The company claims that developers can build conversational AI chatbots based on this technology. Furthermore, they can even use it to develop their non-chat platforms.
When it comes to pricing, the ChatGPT API is priced at $0.002 per 1,000 tokens. It equates to around 750 words. Do note that it’s a default plan. It will provide developers with a common computing infrastructure for processing requests. Besides this, the company is proposing dedicated requests for users who wish to have greater control over the particular model version and system performance. It can be done so by making a reservation for the provision of the infrastructure and paying for a time period irrespective of the number of requests they send. It could be an ideal situation for users who process more than 450 million tokens per day, the company says.
In addition to this, besides Snapchat, several other companies have introduced products fueled by the ChatGPT API. Some examples to note are as follow:

OpenAI has introduced a consumer-based premium version of ChatGPT. It was introduced last month. Currently, it is available to users in the US for $20 per month. Besides this, ChatGPT Plus presents users with faster response times and priority access.
