Redmi 9 Series: Redmi 9A Is A Budget Star With Some Serious Trade-Offs

Redmi is about to launch another mid-ranger series called Redmi 9 Series with multiple devices. The company has earned a name for itself when it comes to solid quality devices with mediocre specs. But, as always, it gets the job done.

First in line of the Redmi 9 Series is the Redmi 9A. It has a 6.53-inch HD+ (1600×720) IPS LCD display, similar to all the other devices in the series. It comes in 3GB RAM with 32GB storage (with optional extension using mSD up to 512GB) and dual nano-sim card tray.

The Redmi 9A has a 13MP camera at the rear and a 5MP selfie-cam, housed in a tear-drop notch. The number of cameras on the device are on the lower side, but not much should be expected from a mid-range smartphones like these.

The Redmi 9A is powered by a mid-ranger heavyweight processor, i-e MediaTek Helio G25, and a Mali-G31 GPU. That should give you ample power to go through everyday tasks without getting power bumps. Of course, the device is not ideal for gaming and other graphic-intensive work.

The show-stopper in this device and all the other devices of the series is the battery. These strictly mid-range smartphones are packing a lot of muscles with  5,000mAh powerhouses. That will make sure the device doesn’t die on you at the end of a normal work day.

For the fans of 3.5mm headphone jack, yes, it’s there, along with the infrared outlet to use the device as a remote control. Leaked spec sheet suggests a fingerprint reader on the device, along with other sensors.

The expected price of the device is around Rs.18,000 to Rs. 22,000. The device will launch soon, so we don’t have to wait much.
