Samsung and SolarEdge collaborate to promote net zero homes

SolarEdge is an Israeli company. It is well-known for its products related to solar energy. Recently, it signed a deal with South Korean tech giant Samsung for the promotion of Net Zero Home. SolarEdge provides products like solar panels, energy generation monitoring tools, and solar inverters. On the other hand, Net Zero Home is Samsung’s project. The basic aim behind this project is the generation of a space that stores, consumes, and manages energy neither overproducing it nor underproducing it. The South Korean conglomerate has not disclosed the details of the partnership.

Through the SmartThings platform, Samsung has introduced a service called SmartThings Energy. it has the capacity to connect with various products and show users the amount of energy generated or used via an app. Given this collaboration, the SolarEdge products will likely incorporate SmartThings Energy. In this way, users can effectively manage the consumption of energy.

SmartThings Energy and AI Saving Mode help to lower electricity consumption

The option of monitoring the electricity generation/consumption can help users to limit energy usage. Such measures can be helpful for nature as well. Interestingly, SmartThings Energy incorporates the AI Saving Mode. By altering the settings of appliances (or turning them on/off) based on the user’s lifestyle, it can automatically reduce electricity use. It may also contribute to energy savings. Having said that, it’s possible that Samsung and SolarEdge are working on something entirely different in addition to the SmartThings Energy integration.

Furthermore, the South Korean tech firm declared that SmartThings Energy and Eco Heating System (EHS) energy-saving solutions in collaboration with several partners will be featured at Intersolar. Intersolar is the largest solar industry exhibition in the world. The exhibition is scheduled from June 14 to June 16, 2023, in Munich, Germany. Samsung also disclosed that it would shortly launch the Demand Response service. This service offers incentives to local governments to voluntarily cut back on energy use in California and New York during peak power hours.
