Samsung could continue shipping smartphones based on special Snapdragon chip

Samsung previously had several in-house processors i.e., Exynos. Although these processors were not a great idea to go by. That is why the tech firm switched to other options. One of the most reliable options to go by was the Snapdragon series introduced by Qualcomm. As of now, it is going to be before the first time in the history of the South Korean tech firm that all its upcoming smartphones i.e., Galaxy S23 series will be equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset. However, do note here that Samsung is not utilizing the chipset that is used by other companies. Instead, it is relying on a higher-clocked version of the snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor for the S23 series.

Well, this is not going to be the last time when Samsung will rely on Qualcomm. It is rumored that the tech firm will utilize more Qualcomm processors in its future smartphones and other products. Currently, it is reported that Samsung has used a processor named Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Platform for Galaxy in the Galaxy S23 series. Going by these rumors, we can anticipate that the Galaxy S24 could also feature a similar chipset. As per the tipster Yogesh Brar, the tech firm will rely on Qualcomm till it is not fully capable of building a great in-house processor.

The Exynos chipset for Samsung smartphones was designed and produced by the System LSI division of Samsung. However, they have not performed up to expectations. Since these chipsets were reported to have several issues most particularly during sustained workload and cellular performance that caused poor battery life. For this reason, Samsung has taken another step ahead by creating a dedicated team of engineers from the Samsung MX division. Reportedly, this team will work on a tailor-made processor that could be debuted in the Galaxy S25 series.

Well, until or unless something better comes up the tech firm will rely on Qualcomm for the higher-clocked versions of chipsets. Thus, it indicates that users won’t have issues with cellular performance and battery life. However, one thing to notice here is that Samsung had to put the effort in order to come up with something better than Qualcomm processors.
