Samsung Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Fold 2 tipped to launch on August 5

Finally, we may have a date for the next pair of Samsung flagship phones, the Galaxy Note 20 and the Galaxy Fold 2. According to multiple reports, the two handsets are expected to be launched on Wednesday August 5.
Such sources are the often reliable Ice Universe on Weibo as well as the Dong-A Ilbo Korean news site, so these rumors carry some significant weight – even if nothing is certain until it is official.

The date of August 5 wouldn’t be a big surprise, as August was previously mentioned as the month when those devices would break cover. Samsung seems keen to have everything unveiled as early as possible in that month.
With a global pandemic on us, the launch event will of course only be online, but we would expect it to be in a format in which everyone can tune in, so you’ll be able to see the hardware for yourself as Samsung shows.
Interestingly, Ice Universe also predicts that Samsung will reveal the Galaxy Tab S7 tablet, a 5G version of the Galaxy Z Flip, and at the same time the Galaxy Watch 2 – so we’re in line for a whole host of new devices.

Recent leaks have indicated that the Galaxy Note 20 models do not differ too much from the Galaxy S20 phones which Samsung launched back in February, although there may be some changes to the on-board cameras configuration.
As for the Galaxy Fold 2, we have heard it will come in at a cheaper price point than the original Galaxy Fold. Rumors also say that when it finally breaks cover, Samsung won’t provide a stylus with the handset.
Whatever we have in store – and whatever date these products actually appear to be – it looks like a busy month or two for Samsung.
