Samsung Galaxy S21 Fan Edition 5G officially presented
After various leaks around the new Galaxy S21 FE 5G, Samsung officially presents its latest “Fan Edition” as a premium smartphone with Android 12. The colorful 6.4-inch model uses a 120 Hz display and the Snapdragon 888 chip. The market launch will take place on January 11th. Although the new Galaxy S22 flagship is expected in February, the South Korean manufacturer is releasing the Galaxy S21 as an FE version on the occasion of CES 2022. The detailed technical data and the first pictures were already available to us exclusively in December, now the official confirmation from Samsung follows. The only difference to the previous revelations: The Galaxy S21 FE 5G is already delivered from the factory with the current Google Android 12 operating system and the adapted One UI 4 interface.
Gap filler between Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21 +
The key technical data include a 6.4-inch AMOLED display with an FHD + resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels and a dynamic refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 888, an octa-core chip, is responsible for the drive with a performance of up to 2.84 GHz and an integrated Adreno 660 graphics unit. It is supported by six or eight gigabytes of RAM, depending on whether you opt for the 128 GB or 256 GB version of the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G. With regard to the photo and video quality, the manufacturer relies on a triple camera system on the back, while the selfie camera on the front is embedded in a so-called “punch hole”. In addition to wide-angle and ultra-wide-angle lenses with a resolution of 12 megapixels, the main cameras also offer an optical telephoto lens with eight-megapixel resolution and a triple zoom or 30x space zoom. The front camera equipped with a fixed focus, on the other hand, delivers images with up to 32 megapixels.
