Flight Simulator 2024: Big Sim Update 7 available

Microsoft is now rolling out Sim Update 7 for Flight Simulator 2024 to improve system stability and aircraft. Players receive free air races in five classes. At the same time, the patch fixes graphics problems on long-haul flights.

Fast and now free

Microsoft has released Sim Update 7 (version 1.9.18.0) for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. The update increases system stability and provides extensive bug fixes for numerous aircraft. A central component is the integration of the National Championship Air Races. Players can compete in five classes in Reno and Roswell, including a new discipline for STOL drag racing.

While the races in Reno previously had to be paid for, the expansion can now be played at no additional cost. In addition to the new content, the update eliminates technical problems. A bug in memory management that caused graphics to gradually degrade during long-haul flights has been fixed. The update also fixes a bug where the lateral flight path at overflight waypoints was sometimes incorrectly calculated. The correction affects almost all glass cockpits in the standard simulator. Extensive model maintenance

Like Microsoft in the official release notes announced that the Boeing C-17 Globemaster III in particular will receive a revision. The standard fly-by-wire system gives way to a customized electronic flight control system. The base weight was corrected as well as the flight behavior on the final approach. Your fleet will also receive official Lufthansa liveries for the Airbus A310-300, A320neo, A321 and A330-300 models. Another innovation in the cockpit is a new app for ground handling on the Electronic Flight Bag. From now on, users control processes such as pushback, stairs, refueling and catering via the tablet without having to open the air traffic control menu.

In career mode, damage to the aircraft after a successful landing no longer inevitably leads to the failure of the entire mission. Air traffic control errors have also been fixed. The package is rounded off by numerous adjustments to the game world. Incorrect nighttime lighting, misplaced buildings and taxiway vegetation issues have been corrected at numerous airports. In addition, Gaya Simulations has reworked many models because the close flight could push the refresh rate below 20 FPS. Microsoft recommends that PC gamers move packages from their community folder if they have stability issues or long loading times, as outdated add-ons can impact performance after an update.
