Samsung Launches Galaxy Tab A8
Samsung has presented its new tablet for price-conscious customers. The Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 comes as a version with WLAN or LTE and can offer more performance and a new display compared to its predecessor, the A7. You also have three options for the color.
Midrange with a new display and Dolby Atmos
If you are looking for an entry-level tablet at a low price, Samsung will now bring you the new Galaxy Tab A8. Somewhat unfortunate timing: Although the performance will work before Christmas, the tablet is unfortunately not a good gift, as all variants will not be available in stores until January 2022. If you want to invest your Christmas bonus here, you might still have something in your wallet: The Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 WiFi started with a recommended price of 229 euros, the Galaxy Tab A8 LTE has a price tag of 279 euros.
The most important feature is of course the display, on which Samsung has changed to the 16:10 format compared to the predecessor A7 – at 10.5 inches (26.67 cm) you are looking at 1,920 x 1,200 pixels. As the developers proudly report, the case-to-display ratio is 80 percent, or in short: the edges are kept relatively narrow here. The sound can be quite surprising in this price range. Four speakers with Dolby Atmos are installed here. Samsung includes two months of YouTube Premium as well as access to Samsung TV Plus and more than 200 free channels when purchasing in Germany.
More performance
Samsung is still holding back at the official presentation with technical details about the drive but speaks of an increase in performance of around 10 percent compared to its predecessor. A few days ago we were able to tell you that the Chinese UniSOC T618 “Tiger” Octacore SoC is used here. The RAM is probably 4 GB, but official information is also missing here.
What is certain, however, is that Samsung will then apply the big red pencil to the memory, 32 GB of internal memory definitely testify to radical cost-cutting measures. So that the tablet can really be used, it can be expanded by up to 1 TB using a microSD card. Since there is no SD card included, this price has to be included in the tablet budget. The last, data for the all-around overview: 7040 mAh battery with a weight of 508 grams, 8-megapixel camera on the back, 5-megapixel front camera. In addition, you are spoiled for choice when it comes to colors: dark gray, silver or pink gold.
