[ad_1]

With the Galaxy Tab S8, S8+ and S8 Ultra, Samsung is preparing for the launch of its new tablet flagships, for which we have exclusive extensive technical specifications and official images in advance. In addition, insiders are already speculating about the prices.

The South Korean manufacturer will not only use the upcoming unpacked event on February 8, 2022 to present its new premium smartphones from the Galaxy S22 family, the new Galaxy Tab S8 series could also celebrate its premiere in the run-up to MWC 2022. The information available to us shows the key technical data of the Android tablets and, after various leaks, allows a first look at Samsung’s official product images.

XXL display in the Ultra model, Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip for all

Basically, the Galaxy Tab S8 series is divided into three models, which differ in terms of their screen size, resolution and their memory and WLAN/5G equipment. As the flagship, Samsung is launching the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra with a 14.6-inch diagonal, notch design and a WQXGA+ resolution of 2960 x 1848 pixels. The Super AMOLED display has a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz and is protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass 5 according to the data sheet.

The manufacturer puts the brightness of the panel at 420 cd/m². Under the hood of all Galaxy Tab S8 tablets is the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip with eight cores, a performance of up to 3.0 GHz and the Adreno 730 graphics unit. The top model of the Ultra variant with 512 GB of memory is also supported by up to 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM, while all other versions of the Galaxy Tab S8 family have to make do with smaller memory configurations or only 8 GB of RAM in various WLAN-only configurations . The various RAM memory combinations can be found in the data sheet below.

Galaxy Tab S8 without OLED display and information about the dual camera system

In contrast to the Ultra version, the Samsung Galaxy S8+ (12.7 inches / 2800 x 1752 pixels) and the Galaxy S8 (11 inches / 2560 x 1600 pixels) do without a notch design and come with a classic, even though wider screen frame on. Interesting fact:

According to the information available to us, the display type of the Galaxy S8+ is, as expected, specified with Super AMOLED technology, but the Galaxy Tab S8 is only described with an LTPS TFT, which is illuminated with up to 500 cd/m² and also benefits from refresh rates of up to 120 Hz. All models of the Galaxy Tab S8 family are equipped by Samsung with a dual camera with 13 megapixels (f/2.0) and an ultra wide-angle lens with six megapixels (f/2.2) on the back. The selfie camera, on the other hand, has a resolution of 12 megapixels (f/2.4). Only the Ultra version will have two 12-megapixel sensors within the notch on the front.

Radio connections, battery capacities and prices

The Galaxy S8, S8+ and S8 Ultra share modern wireless connections such as WLAN-ax (Wi-Fi 6), Bluetooth 5.2 and optionally 5G, as well as the option of expanding the memory with MicroSD cards and unlocking the devices with fingerprints and face recognition and carry out the data transfer or battery charging via USB-C 3.2 Gen 1. The batteries are rated at 8,000 mAh (S8), 10,090 mAh (S8+) and 11,000 mAh (S8 Ultra). Furthermore, all tablets have integrated speakers with Dolby Atmos support, Google Android 12 with Samsung’s One UI 4.1 and the well-known S Pen, which is included in the scope of delivery. We don’t have any concrete information on pricing so far. However, experts expect costs between 680 and 900 euros (S8), 880 and 1110 euros (S8+) and 1040 and 1220+ euros (S8 Ultra). We also do not know whether Samsung will announce other colors for Europe apart from the variants in dark “graphite”.
