Samsung has started rolling out software updates for two of its 2023 Galaxy A-series smartphones, the Galaxy A13 and the Galaxy A13 5G. This update includes the February 2025 security patch, designed to fix a range of security vulnerabilities.
Currently, both the Galaxy A13 models are on a quarterly update schedule. This means this is the first of four security updates these devices will receive this year. As of now, the update is available for the carrier-locked Galaxy A13 variant in the United States and the European variant of the Galaxy A13 5G. The software version for the carrier-locked Galaxy A13 update is A135USQSBEYA1, while the European Galaxy A13 5G update comes with version A136BXXSADYB1.
Samsung devices are set to check for software updates periodically and notify users when an update is available. However, it may take some time for your Galaxy A13 to automatically detect this update. If you’re eager to install it now, simply head to Settings » Software update » Download and install to check manually. Alternatively, advanced users can download the firmware from our database or other trusted sources and install it using the Odin software on a Windows PC.
On another note, the Galaxy A13 and Galaxy A13 5G will not be eligible for Samsung’s Android 15-based One UI 7.0. While this may be disappointing, Samsung’s newer entry-level Galaxy devices now offer up to four OS upgrades, so future models in this range may have extended software support.
