This week, Samsung SDI inaugurated a brand-new research and development facility in Shanghai. It completes the company’s extensive network of R&D sites worldwide. It has been named the SDI Research & Development China, or SDIRC. Furthermore, at the SDIRC, a dedicated research lab will be established that will help with the development and verification of battery materials.

The global network of Samsung SDI’s research and development facilities will help SDIRC to be more competitive. It will focus on gaining key frameworks for battery production as well as advanced manufacturing methods and facilities that are available in China, Europe, and the US.
