Samsung sues Mojo Mobility for patents infringing

Mojo Mobility is a California-based tech company that deals in wireless charging technology. As per some recent pieces of information, the South Korean tech firm is filing a lawsuit against Mojo Mobility. Whereas Mojo Mobility has already filed a patent violation lawsuit against Samsung in 2022 at the Texas Eastern District Court. The company claims that the South Korean conglomerate has violated several patents related to wireless chargers.

As per some fresh reports, Samsung Electronics has filed a patent violation lawsuit against Mojo Mobility at the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). The lawsuit covers wireless charging technologies. It was filed by the company in late June. Well, there is no information on whether Samsung struck back at the similar patents as Mojo Mobility brought up against it or whether the company wishes to highlight some other aspects of the patents to the USPTO.

It’s interesting to note that Mojo Mobility doesn’t seem to be a “patent troll,” or a business that exclusively deals with patents and seeks to use legal means to compel tech companies to pay royalty payments for patents they own and sit on, or to settle so they won’t have to deal with the hassles. In 2022, the company asserted that the South Korean tech firm Samsung used its patent tech in its flagship Galaxy smartphones, smartwatches, and other such devices without an agreement since 2016 following discussions about a potential alliance.
