Samsung To Improve Galaxy Chrome Book’s Battery Life

At the beginning of last month, the South Korean electronics manufacturer Samsung launched the Galaxy Chromebook. A major criticism of the device is the comparatively short battery life. Samsung would now like to help and find a solution.

As MSPoweruser writes, the short runtime was criticized in several test reports. According to Engadget , the battery life is unacceptable. In everyday life, the Galaxy Chromebook could usually not be operated for four hours without the device having to be recharged. The Verge points out that Samsung is promoting an eight-hour runtime. In the test, only four hours and twenty minutes could be achieved.

The CPU governor is being revised

According to Sammobile , this problem is now known to the manufacturer. Samsung is currently working on developing a solution to the problem. The CPU governor should be revised so that the processor uses less energy for easier tasks. It is still unclear when the firmware update will appear. Extending the Chromebook’s battery life is said to have high priority, so owners may only have to wait a few weeks for the update to appear.

The Galaxy Chromebook costs around $ 1000 and offers a current Core i5 processor also eight gigabytes of RAM, 256 gigabytes of memory, and two USB-C ports. Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5 are available for wireless connections. Cellular networks are not supported, however. The OLED display has a 4K resolution and is 13.3 inches tall. While most Chromebooks are entry-level models, the Galaxy Chromebook with its datasheet is clearly an exception.
