Redmi K30i Comes With 48MP Main Camera Setup Instead Of 64MP

When the Redmi K30 unveiled back in December, only the Chinese variant offered 5G connectivity with the global device settling for 4G only. Now reports say that the Redmi K30i will take on the challenge of being the market’s cheapest 5G smartphone and it’s likely to be available outside of China too.

Yet some compromises had to be made, to keep the price down. In this scenario, the Redmi K30i will most likely use a cheaper 48MP main sensor on the back for its quad-camera setup, rather than the 64MP one used on the current Redmi K30 phones.

The information comes from a string in the default MIUI camera app that specifies a phone called “Picasso,” which is the code-name for the Redmi K30 5G. And because we know that the Chinese K30 5G uses the 64MP camera, it’s reasonable to say that this is the international K30i version.
