Similar to the iPhone 16 Pro Max, the iPhone 16 Pro will have a 5x telephoto camera
The iPhone 14 Pro and the iPhone 14 Pro Max features the 3x telephoto sensor however, the recent iPhone 15 Pro Max features a 5x telephoto camera. Do note that the 5x telephoto camera is not offered with the iPhone 15 Pro. Last month, the analyst Ming Chi-Kuo claimed that the upcoming iPhone 16 Pro and the iPhone 16 Pro Max will feature the 5x telephoto camera. As of now, the same piece of news was confirmed by another source.
TrendForce shared in a press release that the adoption of periscope lens module is expected to increase with the debut of tetraprism telephoto zoom lens on the iPhone 15 Pro Max. According to the publication, the company will introduce the same hardware upgrade to the iPhone 16 Pro. In this way, more users will have access to this hardware within the Pro series. So it is now kind of confirmed that Apple will use a 5x telephoto camera on the iPhone 16 Pro.
In addition to this, Kuo claimed that the iPhone 16 Pro and the iPhone 16 Pro Max will feature 48MP ultrawide cameras. It will be a significant upgrade to the 12MP sensors found on the recent models. Although Apple fans are happy with these claims, the two phones are still in the early stages of development, thus Apple may decide later on whether or not to release these cameras. Thus, try not to have too high of expectations.
