Sony launches the Inzone M3 and M9, two PC gaming screens optimized for the PS5

Sony steps into PC gaming hardware with a new brand called Inzone. The Japanese company integrates five first products: two screens and three headsets with microphones. All these products are intended to be used with a PC, but also work perfectly with a PS5, taking advantage of a certain synergy. The launch is planned for the summer of 2022.

Until a few years ago, it was rare for Sony to leave its favorite markets and launch new brands. There’s Bravo. There’s Xperia. There is Alpha. There is Playstation. And there was Vaio before the laptop line was sold to a Japanese conglomerate. But recently, Sony is moving into unexpected segments and stepping out of its comfort zone. We saw it earlier this year with the Linkbuds, great open TWS headphones. And this is the case today with Inzone, the new brand focusing on PC gaming.

Yes, Sony is returning to the PC hardware market through gaming. It has just announced the launch of a brand called Inzone, which will oversee several product lines. In the beginning, we find two ranges: monitors, under the letter “M” and wireless headphones with a microphone, under the letter “H” (for headphones). Sony is announcing two monitors and three headphones today. And they are all certified Perfect for Playstation 5 such as recent high-end Bravias. So if you’re playing on PS5 and not PC, you’re also concerned.

Two monitors studied to play on PC… but perfect for the PS5

Let’s start with the monitors. They are called Inzone M3 and Inzone M9 They are both 27 cm high. But they don’t share the same definition or the same refresh rate. The first is certified Full HD+ @ 240 Hz and DisplayHDR 400. It covers 99% of the sRGB color sample. The second is certified for 4K @ 144 Hz and DisplayHDR 600. It covers 95% of the DCI-P3 color space.

Both screens benefit from a 1-millisecond response. They are both Nvidia G-Sync certified and VRR compatible (like the PS5). They support the KVM Auto function to control two PCs with the same keyboard-mouse duo. Finally, with a PS5, they automatically switch to cinema or game mode depending on the content being played on the console. The Inzone M9 is offered for: 1099 euros, the price of the M3 has not been disclosed.

Sony launches three gaming headsets with 360° spatial sound

Let’s move on to helmets. There are three: Inzone H3, Inzone H7, and Inzone H9 Their prices range between 100 euros for the H1 and 300 euros for the H9 (up to 230 euros for the H7). These headsets support 360° spatial sound.

The H3 is a wired headset. The H7 and H9 are wireless. They are compatible with fast charging and offer an hour of playtime on a 10-minute charge. finally, the H9 Offers Active Noise Canceling (with a transparency mode). A feature that nibbles on autonomy, as the H7 runs for 40 hours on a single charge, compared to 32 hours for the H9. Their launch is expected in July.
