Spotify Reportedly Testing a New, More Expensive Premium Tier Called Music Pro

Spotify might not be done tweaking its subscription offerings. After raising the price of its Premium plan last year, the popular music streaming platform is reportedly considering a new, higher-priced tier called Music Pro. This new plan could cost subscribers up to $5.99 more per month on top of their existing plan and is expected to arrive later this year.

According to Bloomberg, insiders familiar with Spotify’s plans say the company is still ironing out the details, so both pricing and release timelines are subject to change. However, the Music Pro plan is rumored to include some enticing features, such as higher-quality audio and an AI-powered tool that can remix songs by blending tracks from different artists.

Another potential perk? Concert ticket benefits. Spotify is reportedly exploring ways to sell tickets directly to Music Pro subscribers, offering advantages like presale access or better seating options. These concert-related features could make the tier especially appealing to live music fans.

The rollout of Music Pro is expected to happen gradually, with Spotify planning to introduce even more features and tools over time. Pricing may also vary based on location, with subscribers in emerging markets potentially paying a lower premium for the new plan.

To bring this ambitious plan to life, Spotify is currently in discussions with ticket vendors, promoters, and music labels. While the company hasn’t confirmed anything publicly yet, more details are expected once the Music Pro subscription is finalized and ready to launch. Keep an eye out for updates on what could be Spotify’s most advanced subscription tier yet.
