Tesla to introduce a bike, but not in the way you might think

The car manufacturer Tesla has brought a new two-wheeler onto the market. However, this is not an e-bike that many fans want, but rather a pedalless balance bike for small children. The lightweight model made of magnesium costs an impressive $225.
Tesla brings two-wheelers for small children
The American car manufacturer Tesla has a new product in its portfolio Online shop recorded. However, this is not the electric bike that many fans demand, but rather a balance bike for children aged two to five. The two-wheeler costs 225 dollars (the equivalent of just under 200 euros). This is an unusual step into a new market area for the manufacturer.
The new model is characterized by a lightweight magnesium frame. The material offers the advantage of being lighter than steel or aluminum, but still has high structural stability. For small children, the low weight makes it much easier to steer and maneuver in everyday life, which is intended to simplify the motor learning process.
Features and specifications
Visually, the product fits into the company’s existing design line. The manufacturer’s lettering adorns the side, while the well-known T logo is emblazoned on the front. The saddle can be locked at five different heights so that the vehicle can grow with the child over several years. Special air-filled tires ensure appropriate driving comfort on different surfaces.
As Electrek reports, the manufacturer specifies a minimum leg length of just under 35 centimeters and a maximum body weight of around 35 kilograms. The necessary tools for assembly are included in the scope of delivery. There is no electric drive at all; locomotion is traditionally done by pushing off with your legs.
Pricing in market comparison
With a price of 225 dollars (around 196 euros), the balance bike is positioned in the upper price segment. Conventional models from established brands are often available for 40 to 100 euros. With this model, buyers pay a significant premium for the name of the automobile brand.
Nevertheless, Tesla is within the scope of what is called for premium wheels. Competing products like the Woom 1 (269 euros) are priced in a similar region. While other car brands such as BMW or Rivian offer full-fledged e-bikes for adults, such an offer at Tesla remains just wishful thinking. A Tesla balance bike for just under 200 euros:
