The Desktop will soon receive Google Search topic filters

When it comes to Google, Search is one of the biggest domains of the company’s business. Although the company has made efforts to enter new segments. Still, its hardware, search, and, ads account for a major proportion of revenues and earnings. The search result on Google is provided with various filters like News, Books, Images, Maps, Shopping, Videos, Flights, and Finance.

In order to improve the search results on the desktop the company has begun rolling out topic filters. With the new feature, users can experience refined searches and collect more information about any topic. Given the new feature, related topic filters will be added to the search results. Thus, helping users to find something new or relevant to a topic. The new topics are marked by plus signs.

Back in December, Google added topic filters to Google search on mobile. Now, the feature will be rolled out for desktops. One interesting fact to note about filters is that they are accompanied by a dynamic design. As soon as a user clicks on a search result, the filter changes. In this way, users can gain vast knowledge about their queries.

According to Google, relevant subjects are displayed automatically based on how well it understands your search query and the online content that is currently available. If a user can’t find a specific filter, there is also a “All filters” option at the end of the row that displays more filters.

Furthermore, there is also a minor modification in the Google Search page on mobile. With the new update, the buttons beside each filter are now gone. The text appears in an oval outline. As of now, the change has not been widely rolled out. Back in 2019, the company added icons to the search filters. They were introduced as a part of icons that were added to search filters in 2019 as a part of the Google Material Theme makeover.
