The first firmware update for Microsoft Surface Go 3 releases

At the end of 2021, Microsoft launched the new Surface Go 3 – now the ultra-mobile Windows tablet is getting its first firmware update. There are a number of improvements and important bug fixes. The update is therefore recommended for all users. The distribution of the firmware update has recently started.

It is the first software update Microsoft has released since the launch of the new Surface series device. For the first time, there is now an own support page showing the update history for the Surface Go 3.

Start improvements

Now Microsoft is rolling out the very first firmware update for the Surface Go 3, which brings some improvements. The update contains a security-related change. According to Microsoft, a vulnerability classified as critical will be fixed. Little is known about the other changes. Surface owners will automatically receive the updates through the Windows update feature. Little information is available on the details of the changes.

The following update is available for Surface Go 3 devices running Windows 10 October 2020 Update, version 20H2 or later. This update resolves a critical vulnerability and improves system stability.

However, it is important to note that firmware updates cannot be removed or rolled back to an earlier version. What’s interesting is that this first update is actually coming out this late. As a rule, the group always publishes the first bug fix update within a few days shortly after the market launch of new devices. Apparently, that was not necessary this time.
