The global release of the OnePlus 12 and 12R is scheduled for January 23, 2024, with slight regional variations

Just recently, OnePlus shared the details regarding the global release of the OnePlus 12 and OnePlus 12R. The two smartphones by OnePlus are expected to enter the US market soon. Reportedly, they are set to launch on January 23, 2024.

The “12 series devices indicate the conclusion of a decade in business; the devices were designed to tackle an industry-wide difficulty with balancing high performance, high consumption of power, efficient heat dissipation, and durability,” according to OnePlus, in an attempt to generate some hype for the two devices. In addition to this, the company claims that the smartphones include the best specs that eliminate the requirement of including the ‘pro’ or ‘ultra’ label.

The OnePlus 12 has debuted in China, so we have an idea about the features of the smartphone. Reportedly, the smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor with up to 24GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage. It packs a 5,400mAh battery with 100W wired and 50W wireless. On the other hand, the OnePlus 12R is expected to abandon the telephoto camera and include a bigger battery. All the remaining specs are the same as the OnePlus 12.

The company is set to celebrate its ten years of success. It was founded on December 16, 2013. The company debuted the OnePlus One in early 2014. OnePlus has shared a video that showcases the history of the company. Unfortunately, the company has not been able to outperform its competitors in the market. However, the company is quite flourishing in several regions across the globe. In the US, besides Apple, Samsung, and Motorola, OnePlus is ranked as the fourth most impactful smartphone manufacturer. This is mostly because US carriers no longer carry OnePlus phones.
