There’s a chance Fossil won’t release any more Wear OS watches

There is a possibility that the Wear-OS platform won’t power future Fossil smartwatches. The information comes from several Reddit users. The speculations on the future of Fossil’s Wear OS-powered smartwatches appear to be supported by the Reddit posts.

Retail staff are said to have had conversations with multiple Reddit users. They are said to have provided some insight into the direction Fossil’s Wear OS-based devices are taking. The Fossil Gen 7 Wear OS watch won’t be used, according to the employees. The Gen 7 watch hasn’t made any significant news, so the reports might be accurate.

Information covering the product launch timeframe of late summer was recently shared. Notably, it doesn’t include any new devices. Furthermore, CES 2024 is just a few more days away. We can expect Fossil to debut the new smartwatch at the event. However, currently, there are not many details about the
Fossil Gen 7 Wear OS smartwatch.

It is quite surprising since it has been two years since the company debuted the Fossil Gen 6. In November, the company recently rolled out the Wear OS 3.5 update to the smartwatch. In addition, another Reddit user asserts that, according to his information, the company is waiting for new chipsets. Perhaps the company is awaiting Qualcomm to unveil the new Wear OS platform. Nevertheless, there are no rumors that Qualcomm is working on a new processor for Wear OS gadgets. Therefore, there isn’t much evidence to support the Reddit user’s post.
