Wear OS 4 features will also be introduced to Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch 4
The South Korean conglomerate unveiled the One UI 5 Watch a few days back. It will be available on the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 5. With this new software, the tech company has added several new features to the smartwatches.
Notably the One UI 5 Watch presents an upgrade of WEAR OS from Wear OS 3 to Wear OS 4. All the new changes and features will be introduced to smartwatches that receive the Wear OS 4. Google shed some details on the new features of Wear OS 4 at the I/O conference.
Previously Google and Samsung partnered for the Wear OS 3. Likewise, both companies have partnered for some of the Wear OS 4 features. It includes the capacity for developers to design custom watch faces that can be edited by users from their smartwatches. In addition to this, Wear OS 4 will be accompanied by full support for Gmail and Google Calendar.
Additionally, it enables the users to connect a smartwatch with a new smartphone without going for a factory reset. It was a long-awaited feature and it has finally arrived. Wear OS 4 is provided with improved battery life. However, the tech firm Google has not specified the improved areas.
Google has issued a developer preview for Wear OS 4. It can be downloaded by developers. Users of Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 5 in the US and Korea will have a chance to try to Wear OS 4 and One UI 5 Watch through a beta program that will be released by Samsung later this month. However, the first stable version of the new software s expected to arrive with the Galaxy Watch 6 in July/August.
