WhatsApp users can now edit sent messages just like the iMessage

WhatsApp is a popular app used for conversation purposes. It is an encrypted chat platform that is owned by Meta. Over the course of the previous few months, WhatsApp has been actively working on the development of new features. Just recently, it was reported that WhatsApp might be working on a newsletter feature. Before this, the company also introduced the picture-in-picture mode for video calls. The feature was introduced for the iOS version of the app.

Now, some fresh pieces of information indicate that the company is going to another interesting feature. Reportedly, the company will introduce a feature for editing sent messages. The feature is said to be similar to the one presented with iMessage.

Well, this is not something new and unique. Since the feature is already presented with Apple and Telegram. Where Apple introduced the feature with iOS 16. It appears that WhatsApp is now going to adopt the same functionality with its platform. In order to edit a sent message, the user needs to hold the message bubble and click on the Edit option thus presented.

As per the information from WABetaInfo, WhatsApp users will be presented with a duration of 15 minutes to edit a sent message. It is similar to the one offered with iMessage. On the other hand, Telegram allows users to edit their sent messages for a period of almost 48 hours. It is anticipated that the feature will be introduced in a future update of the app. It will be initially introduced to WhatsApp beta testers. Later the feature will be introduced to the public. Since it is already in the developmental phase.
