Microsoft is adding new features to the Xbox app for Windows. Among other things, after the March update, PC gamers can display the most played titles in their region and use new filters in the games library. Xbox Insiders get what’s new first.
Microsoft is making visible changes to the home page of the Xbox app, which focuses primarily on Game Pass games. A new “Now in trend” area is being created here, which lists the regionally often played titles in the top 10. The Redmond company also wants to use a new survey or quiz to give personal recommendations to answer the question “What’s your next game?” to clarify. Basically a genre filter with randomly generated results.
Furthermore, the game overview in the sidebar of the Xbox app will be changed. Instead of showing all installed titles, it is now sorted by recently played and recently installed games. A complete overview, on the other hand, moves to the “My Library” area. Microsoft now offers improved filter functions in that one. You can filter for any multiplayer modes, achievements, ratings, and technical aspects (Dolby Atmos, HDR, ray tracing, etc.
The March update is now available to all Windows and Xbox Insiders and can be downloaded and installed from the Microsoft Store. Since the changes are only a fine-tuning of the user interface, the patch should probably also be available to the average consumer in the near future. If you want to try out the new functions directly, you can find the Xbox Insider Hub in the Microsoft Store, which you can use to register accordingly.
