Xiaomi debuts the Redmi 12 5G in the Indian market
Xiaomi is all set to introduce a new budget smartphone in the Indian market. Notably, the company is going to unveil the Redmi 12 5G. The recent offering from Xiaomi is the first-ever device to be powered by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 SoC. In this short piece, we will have a closer look at the specs of the Redmi 12 5G.
Features of the Redmi 12 5G
The Redmi 12 5G by Xiaomi offers different memory options. These include the options of 4GB/6GB/8GB of LPDDR4X memory and 128GB/256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. In addition to this, the memory is expandable via a microSD card. It can be expanded up to 1TB via a hybrid SIM slot.
The smartphone accompanies a 5,000mAh battery with support for 18W charging. Besides this, the smartphone packages a 22.5W charger in the box. the display of the Redmi 12 5G is a 6.79-inch FHD+ LCD panel that features a refresh rate of 90Hz. The display of the smartphone is protected by the addition of Corning Gorilla Glass. On the back, the device is covered with glass for extra protection.
Some other features include a 3.5mm headphone jack, a USB-C port, an IR blaster, and an IP53 rating. The smartphone comes with Android 13 pre-installed and MIUI 14 skin. Redmi 12 5G includes a 50MP primary camera on the back. It is accompanied by a 2MP depth sensor. Additionally, the smartphone features an 8MP front camera.
Pricing and availability of Redmi 12 5G
The 4GB+128GB variant of the Redmi 12 5G is priced in India at Rs. 11,999 (~$145). On the other hand, the 6GB+128GB version is available for Rs. 13,499 (~$165) and the 8GB+256GB variant is priced at Rs. 15,499 (~$188). Users can purchase the smartphone from online and offline stores from August 4 onwards. The Redmi 12 5G comes in three different colors i.e., Jade Black, Pastel Blue, and Moonstone Silver colors.
