Xiaomi works on a foldable similar to Pixel 6

The Xiaomi Flip recipe is very simple: you take a Pixel 6, put it in the shaker with a Galaxy Z Flip3, mix well, and have your clamshell type folding ready for action.

After seeing a huge success that Samsung’s most fashionable mobile has had, the Galaxy Z Flip3, it seems that all manufacturers now want to have a ‘clamshell’ type foldable on the market much cheaper and more versatile than the hybrid models between tablet and smartphone.

At least, that is what it seems after having seen the Motorola RAZR of 2022 filtered, which is already in the Lenovo ovens finishing its cooking, and also now after seeing how Xiaomi presents the first sketches of a folding Flip that could come very soon a rather curious and striking design which, at least, requires a more leisurely debate. This would be the Xiaomi Flip, a baby created in China of the Galaxy Z Flip3 with the Pixel 6.

In fact, it seems that Haidian has liked the idea of blatantly copying the Pixel 6 but mixing it with the concept of the Galaxy Z Flip to get a strange Frankenstein with a collapsible design in clamshell format but with a photographic layout made by Google in which a triple sensor configuration would be inserted within the characteristic horizontal hump, which will undoubtedly star in the entire external face of the device. MySmartPrice, the patent is not new but was filed last Decemberalthough authorities at CNIPA, the China National Intellectual Property Administration, just accepted her posting all these sketches that show us in detail this hypothetical Xiaomi Flip that we do not know if it will finally come true.

This would be the Xiaomi Flip, a perfect hybrid between the Galaxy Z Flip and a Pixel 6

And this, friends, is the new folding Motorola RAZR in the video Xiaomi’s idea would be to take advantage of the maximum possible space inside the casing for hardware that is always compromised in these designs, as space for batteries and components is left quite limited by the hinges.

Thus, it would bet on improving the mobile photography of the current Flip options with three sensors in a horizontal arrangement, emerging from the body in a prominent hump in the purest style of the latest Google smartphones, something that seems strange because it goes a lot against logic and what all manufacturers are looking for which is precisely minimizing or concealing these protuberances. In any case, the design is shown in quite a bit of detail so you can see it directly and we leave the opinions to you so here we are going to continue unraveling details.

We don’t know anything about its hardware, but given the sketches, both the internal camera and the fingerprint reader should be placed under the flexible screen.

The internal camera should be placed behind a hole centered on the top of the flexible screen although it is not shown, so various media already they speculate that Xiaomi will bet again on the integrated cameras under the screen as happened with its first folding of Xiaomi. For the rest, we see the USB-C connector on the bottom frame accompanied in that position by the main speaker and the slot for the nano-SIM, leaving space for the physical power buttons and volume adjustment on the side, no trace of the fingerprint reader either at least in these sketches.

Now we have to wait for Xiaomi’s movements with its new folding ones, and that is that a second generation of the Xiaomi Fold is also expected Let’s hope, this time it does come out of China… And you, would you like a Xiaomi Flip like this? Neither Xiaomi, Huawei, Samsung, nor Apple: is the brand that is hitting it in China right now.
