Following in the footsteps of Spotify Wrapped, YouTube Music established its own yearly custom of providing subscribers with individualized reviews of their musical year. These recaps have taken on a cultural significance that enables people to reflect on their musical tastes and share them with peers on social media. But YouTube Music wants you to do that on a seasonal basis, and its most recent Winter Recap 2023 is now available.
A full-screen popup for the Winter Recap 2023 was discovered by Google in the YouTube Music app. When you tap the Get your recap button, as in the first screenshot below, you are directed to the Winter Recap page, where you have a few choices. With the Watch Now option, you may begin a slideshow of cards like Instagram Stories that looks back at your wintertime musical habits. These cards include a list of your most-played songs, genres, playlists, and even live performances, as well as the amount of time you spent dancing to your favorite music while wearing your favorite Bluetooth headphones.
To make highlights from your photographs that are mixed with music, you may also connect this YouTube Music Recap to Google Photos along with your playlist that you kept on listening through the month of winters.
These recaps are often distributed to users by YouTube Music in installments, and the distribution is frequently agonizingly slow. We have yet to see Winter Recap in YouTube Music, and it’s likely that many other users are experiencing the same thing. The Winter Recap info cards were already in 9to5Google’s app, but the matching playlist didn’t show up for them either, indicating an especially sluggish and incomplete deployment.
You can still view the Winter Recap popup if you already saw it in your YouTube Music app but unintentionally ignored it by going to the Your Recap menu in the profile section. In this section, you can access playlists from prior YTM recaps to listen to older content from previous year.
