YouTube Premium Lite won’t be available from next month onwards

With the current economic fluctuations, several tech companies have introduced paid services to generate revenue. They have introduced new subscription plans, revised the older ones, or killed off the previously introduced ones. The same is the case with YouTube. Most of us are aware of YouTube Premium. It is a subscription plan that grants users access to ad-free content on the platform. However, most of us don’t know about another cheaper option that is available in a few regions. Unfortunately, the company is going to kill it off in the future.

According to the information shared by The Verge, the company has notified the concerned users via email. The information reveals that the company will discontinue the YouTube Premium Lite option. The email indicates that the service can’t be accessed after October 25. In addition, the business promised users that it would “continue to work on different versions of Premium Lite” in response to user input. That suggests that the Lite plan might eventually return under a different name.

In 2021, YouTube debuted YouTube Premium Lite in several European countries. It was priced at €6.99 per month. In contrast, the Premium is available for €11.99 per month. YouTube Premium Lite offers access to ad-free playback. However, it lacks access to other premium attributes like offline downloads, background playback, and a YouTube Music subscription. Well, we hope that there might be an inexpensive plan in the future. Of course, the current YouTube premium plan comes at a huge price for US and European users.
