Legion Y32p-30: Lenovo gaming monitor shows 4K at 144 Hz

With the Legion Y32p-30, Lenovo presents a large-scale gaming monitor. 3,840 × 2,160 pixels are displayed down to 144 Hz on a 32-inch diagonal. Lenovo advertises a very short Moving Picture Response Time (MPRT) of 0.2 ms but does not disclose how this is achieved.

It has 4 levels of overdrive

With a narrow bezel on the sides and the top edge of the display, the IPS panel is said to provide a response time (GtG) of 2ms to 5ms, depending on the overdrive level. Backlight strobing would at least be an option for 0.2 ms MPRT, but this technical question could not be answered on-site. FreeSync Premium is supported.

10-bit color depth

The 31.5-inch IPS panel delivers a pixel density of 139 ppi and achieves a simulated 10-bit color depth (8-bit + FRC). 99 percent of the sRGB color space and 90 percent of the P3 color space must be covered. The display is factory calibrated to a color difference of Delta E < 2. Contrast (1,000:1) and brightness (max. 400 cd/m²) are typical values for IPS monitors. With DisplayHDR 400, only the smallest of the VESA’s HDR certifications are offered. The local dimming extends over only 16 zones.

More Connections including HDMI 2.1 and USB-C

The variety of connections, on the other hand, is lush, because in addition to a DisplayPort 1.4 and two HDMI 2.1 there is a USB-C upstream port with DP 1.4 and up to 75 watts as well as downstream ports of the type USB-C (1 × 15 W) and USB A (2x). In addition, there is the mandatory headphone output. Alternatively, audio signals can be played through the integrated 2 × 5-watt speakers.

A side bracket folds out to hang a headset. Lenovo Legion Y32p-30 The KVM switch function allows the monitor to control two systems using the same mouse and keyboard. Picture-by-Picture and Picture-in-Picture picture modes for the simultaneous display of two picture sources are also supported. A sensor also measures the ambient light and can automatically adjust the screen brightness based on the data. An RGB LED bar is housed at the bottom of the screen.
