iOS 27: Apple is removing additional functions from the iPhone at launch
Users in the European Union will have to do without the new functions in iOS 27 with Siri AI anyway. According to Apple, two further practical innovations will now be removed worldwide at the start, which will only be added later via an update.

Next Monday, September 14, 2026, Apple will release its new operating system iOS 27 for the iPhone. Due to regulatory requirements, users in the European Union must for the time being completely forego the new functions related to the artificial intelligence Siri AI. The company has now confirmed further restrictions at the start. In addition to EU users, they also affect all other users.
Two tools that were already tested in the beta phase did not make it into the final version. Originally, suggestions in messages and emails as well as automatic password changes were intended to make everyday life easier for users. However, the developers removed the functions from the system at the end of the test phase. An exact time for the return to the iPhone has not yet been determined. According to Apple, a future software update should close the gap soon.
Messages and password management
Like Apple on its official website for iOS 27 confirmed, the restrictions also apply across platforms to the tablet operating system iPadOS 27 and the desktop system MacOS Golden Gate. Users therefore have to be patient on all devices. The first missing feature is context-based suggestions in chats. The system analyzes conversations locally on the device and independently suggests entering appointments in the calendar or creating thematically appropriate notes. The second function concerns the new passwords application.
The software should work closely with the in-house browser Safari to independently change compromised access data on websites in the background. Since the system acts on its own initiative on external websites to update passwords, errors must be strictly avoided. In the worst case, a faulty process could completely exclude users from their online accounts. Therefore, Apple will probably forego integrating the complex tool for the time being.
Update to version 27.1 is approaching
Industry observers assume that the missing tools could possibly be added with iOS version 27.1. Observers expect the update before October 23, 2026. On this day, the new iPhone Duo will come onto the market. The improved software is expected to be pre-installed directly on the new devices.
