Google Pixel 7 Pro Benchmark shows the performance of the Tensor G2 chip

In the run-up to the upcoming Google event, further benchmarks of the Pixel 7 Pro with the new Tensor G2 processor will be shown. These again confirm a rather moderate increase in the performance of the flagship smartphone compared to the predecessor and the competition. At 3 p.m. GMT, Google will expand its Pixel family with two smartphones Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro.

The cat is already out of the bag. All technical data and pictures have already been leaked in advance. The fact that the search engine giant cannot assert itself against competitors like Apple with its processor and graphics performance this year became clear with the first leaked benchmarks, which are now being substantiated.

Now AI will fix it

The Indian blogger Yogesh Brar not only mentions the Geekbench values that appeared with 1068 points in the single-core and 3149 points in the multi-core benchmarks but also an AnTuTu V9 result of 801116 points. According to this, the added performance of the new Google Tensor G2 chip compared to the first Tensor generation is around 10 percent.

In comparison: The iPhone 14 Pro Max can beat it by almost 75 percent in the same Geekbench scenario with over 5500 multi-core points. According to Brar, the performance of the Pixel 7 Pro would be comparable to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 or Snapdragon 888+. However, Google is known for making up for its lack of performance with software features.

Among other things, it will be interesting to see which functions the manufacturer has planned for the camera and in which scenarios users will be supported by the artificial intelligence of the new smartphones. One can also hope for improved chip efficiency and an associated increase in battery life. You can follow the Google event for the Pixel 7 (Pro) and the Pixel Watch via live stream from 4 p.m. in our big Google Special.
