Signal is about to roll out the Stories feature

Signal is one of the famous messaging platforms. Recently, Signal announced that it is going to introduce the “Stories” feature. This feature will be equally available to android as well as iOS users. Further, the official announcement clarified that the Stories feature will be soon released on the desktop platform as well. This new feature of Signal is quite similar to the one that already exists on other platforms like Instagram i.e., the stories feature.

Just like the status on WhatsApp and stories on Instagram disappear after the span of 24 hours, the same will go for the Stories feature on the Signal app. It will enable the users to share videos, photos, and even text on their profiles. Additionally, the Stories feature on the Signal app will be end-to-end encrypted just like other features of the app. Furthermore, the users who could view the stories of any particular user are also customizable. Users can choose who could view and who couldn’t.

To customize the views on stories, navigate to the app’s Setting menu. You will be presented with three options. These include everyone, someone whose message request you have accepted, and someone you had a conversation with. Further, an option also enables the users to hide their stories from particular people.

When it comes to a group announcement, you can create a custom story and share it in the specific group. Moreover, stories could be shared in the existing group chats. Users are also given the choice to view receipts from the Settings menu. They can either turn this feature on or off.

Signal indicated that the main reason behind the introduction of this feature entails that it was requested by users. further, the company mentioned that non-interested user could turn the stories feature off. It can be done via the Setting menu followed by selecting the Turn Off Stories option.
