With support for two external displays, the Apple MacBook Air M3 has been launched

The latest silicon of Apple, the MacBook Air M3 is now official. The new laptop features the same design as the predecessor however, it is quite powerful. Furthermore, it features several minor improvements as well. Notably, it comes in two screen sizes: the 13-inch and the 15-inch variation.
As compared to the M2 Air, the two variants of the M3 Air are announced simultaneously with the latest generation. Both models feature the same design language. They have a display notch and a flat-edged chassis. The new MacBook Air is powered by the M3 chipset. Reportedly, the chipset comprises of an 8-core CPU, up to 10-core GPU, and a faster 16-core Neural Engine. According to the company, it is the best consumer offering for AI.
The previous model of the MacBook Air was compatible with just a single external display. However, the recent models are compatible with two external displays. There is a small catch though—this is only functional while the laptop lid is closed. The Air can only connect to one external display at a time when its screen is active. The 500 nits peak brightness and Liquid Retina panels are still features of both models.
When it comes to comparison with other offerings from the company, the new MacBook Air is 13 times faster than the Intel-powered MacBooks. Similarly, in contrast to the M1 model, the recent offerings offer 60% more performance. Additionally, the Air M3’s hardware-accelerated mesh shading and ray tracing provide a realistic gaming experience. AV1 decoding is supported as well.
Some other notable improvements of the MacBook Air M3 include WiFi-6E support, voice isolation, support for Spatial Audio and Dolby Atmos, enhanced voice clarity in audio and video calls, a 1080p Facetime camera, three microphones, and wide spectrum microphone modes.
The MacBook Air M3 comes in four different colors including the space gray, silver, midnight, and starlight option. Anodization sealing has been added to the midnight option to lessen the noticeable fingerprints that were common on the M2 Air.
Pricing and availability of the MacBook Air M3
The 13-inch version of the Apple MacBook Air M3 costs $1,099, while the 15-inch model costs $1,299 at launch. Pre-orders can be placed for it starting today, and delivery will start on March 8.
