    The all-round, worry-free storage

Just in time for German Unity Day, the Swiss cloud provider pCloud is launching a discount campaign on its lifetime plans. From September 28th to October 14th, 2026, prices will drop by up to 69 percent. The zero-knowledge encryption pCloud Encryption is included in all promotional packages at no extra charge – a strong deal. As is well known, the principle of pCloud differs from what is usual in the cloud business: instead of monthly or annual fees, a one-time payment is made, after which the storage is permanently available. No automatic contract extension, no price adjustment after the first year, no notice period in the calendar.

    The packages at a glance

Three premium lifetime plans are available during the promotion, each including pCloud Encryption:

And what is pCloud Encryption? It supplements the storage with user-side encryption based on the zero-knowledge principle. Files are already encrypted on the device before they are uploaded. Only the encrypted version ends up on the servers. Only someone who knows the appropriate password can decrypt it – you.

    Swiss data protection

As a Swiss company, pCloud is subject to federal data protection law and at the same time meets the requirements of the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). By default, European customers’ data is stored in our own, ISO-certified data centers in Luxembourg. A second location in the USA is available; only European law applies to EU servers. Technically, the provider uses 256-bit encryption according to the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) for all stored files as well as TLS/SSL channel protection for the transmission paths. All data is mirrored several times at different locations for security, and early warning systems against fire, water, smoke and burglary additionally protect the data centers on site. Security comes first at pCloud, according to Swiss guidelines

New: pCloud Docs and more traffic

pCloud recently relaunched its premium plans. Now on board is pCloud Docs, an integrated Office component for creating and editing documents. Several pCloud users can work together in real time, eliminating the need to use third-party tools. The monthly shared link traffic, i.e. the volume of data that can flow through shared download links, was also doubled. The 2TB plan is now 4TB per month, and the 10TB plan is 20TB. Those who regularly pass on large files to colleagues or customers are less likely to reach limits. Complete backups can be created quickly and easily with pCloud

In everyday life, the desktop application pCloud Drive integrates the storage as a virtual hard drive in Windows, macOS and Linux. Files can then be managed as if they were on a local drive, including automatic backups. The apps for Android and iOS even upload photos independently if desired, thus keeping your smartphone memory free. pCloud synchronizes changes directly across devices in real time – via desktop, smartphone and browser. Shared links, folder invitations and file requests are also available for sharing, allowing third parties to upload material without having an account themselves. Other useful pCloud features:

  • pCloud Photos automatically sorts images by date into a gallery with a timeline
  • A built-in photo editor offers cropping, rotation, brightness and contrast adjustments, and one-click filters
  • The media player streams music and videos directly from the cloud, including playlists
  • The Rewind function retrieves deleted or overwritten files
  • If desired, pCloud can automatically import stocks from services such as Dropbox, Google Drive or OneDrive
  • pCloud is constantly being expanded with new features, such as the photo manager

    Saving millions of cloud users

pCloud was founded in 2013 and the service has now been on the market for over 13 years and, according to the company, has more than 24 million users worldwide. The fact that the data centers are operated themselves and not rented keeps ongoing fixed costs low. This is exactly the basis for a one-off payment model to be sustainable over such a long period of time. There is still time until October 14, 2026 to take stock of your own data collection. Anyone planning the switch can find all packages on the pCloud promotions page. We can highly recommend cloud storage. How do you feel about your cloud storage: would you rather have a subscription or pay once and have peace of mind? And what capacity is actually enough for you in everyday life? Feel free to tell us in the comments.
