Activate Gmail’s package tracking feature on your smartphone

Gmail data hungry functions

Last year in November, the tech company Google assured that users could soon be able to track their shipments by using Gmail. Previously, users had to copy and paste the tracking number in order to keep track of their orders. The shipments companies use to send the tracking numbers via email. The solution announced by Google was quite good. However, it took some time to arrive. But now, the feature is live for users.

To use the feature, users need to update their Gmail app. Followed by an app update, turn on the shipment tracking feature. The shipment tracking feature could be activated from the settings menu of the app. The new feature is currently available on Android and iOS via the Gmail app. For enabling the feature, launch the Gmail app. Tap on the icon present in the top left corner of the app. Tap on Settings. Select the email account with which you wish to activate the shipment tracking feature.

on the other hand, the Samsung smartphone i.e., Galaxy smartphone is presented with a Package Tracking option. Enable this feature. Followed by that, as soon as an email from the shipment company is opened the users will view dynamic information on a card. The card could be seen at the top with the delivery status. It shows information like the package shipped, in transit, or delivered.

The latest feature by Google is expected to work with all main shipping carriers. However, the tech company has not revealed the names of the shipment companies. It will possibly work for Amazon. The app will show the users if there is a delay in the package. Additionally, the email will ump to the top of the list if there is an upgrade relevant to your package.
