Diablo 4 Is Not Coming To Xbox Game Pass As Yet

These days decide whether Microsoft may take over the publisher Activision Blizzard. Because the verdict in the lawsuit by the FTC is likely to fall soon. If the US Commerce Agency lost, that would be a de facto decision in favor of Microsoft in the US – with consequences.

Most players expect that with a successful acquisition of Activision Blizzard, all of the publisher’s games will also be unlocked for the Xbox Game Pass – as has been the case with many other titles that Microsoft has added to its portfolio in the course of acquisitions.

But that doesn’t seem to apply to all games Activision Blizzard offers, at least not yet. Because Mike Ybarra, President of Blizzard Entertainment, has made it clear that Diablo 4 will not be part of the Game Pass offer.

That Ybarra has commented at all is because an advertisement for an alleged Xbox Game Pass version of Diablo 4 has appeared in a Brazilian payment app called PicPay (via PCGamesN). The tagline read: “Available now. Get it now or play it through Xbox Game Pass.” Although the banner was quickly deleted, the whole thing found its way onto the Internet.

“Does not happen”

It was also discovered there by the Blizzard boss. He also commented briefly and succinctly: “That won’t happen.” This can undoubtedly be seen as a clear denial. But is it a final or permanent rejection? That is very unlikely. Because Microsoft is investing so much money in gaming-specific acquisitions precisely because it wants to strengthen Game Pass. In addition, Ybarra certainly refers to the current state and according to this, the Microsoft takeover is not yet through.

As for the takeover itself, experts are awaiting Judge Jacqueline Scott Corley’s decision these days. Their verdict was expected last week, but Corley is taking more time than expected.
