Gauss AI on Samsung acquires access to 20,000 academic publications

According to some recent pieces of information, the Gauss Generative AI model from Samsung now has access to telecom-related academic papers. Reportedly, the information was provided by the Korean Institute of Communications and Information Sciences. According to the information shared by The Korea Herald, in order to train the new generative AI model, Samsung has collaborated with the institute. The company will be using academic papers related to telecommunication.
Samsung’s AI is getting smart In November, the tech giant introduced Gauss AI during the Samsung AI Forum 2023 event. Samsung Research’s generative AI model forms the basis for upcoming AI goods and services that the general public will eventually be able to use. The upcoming Galaxy S24 series will be the first smartphone to feature AI tools. The AI tools are based on three main elements of the Samsung Gauss suite. These include Gauss Language, Gauss Image, and Gauss Code. According to Samsung Research,
“This is the first step of a significant partnership between a global IT company and an academic association” regarding the recent agreement with the Korean Institute of Communications and Information Sciences. “Expand collaboration with educational organizations across multiple disciplines in the future and attempt to create the best technology” is what the company plans to keep doing. Gauss will be trained on 20,000 scholarly articles from Samsung that contain text, graphs, calculations, and fact-based figures.
