Google Integrates AI With All Products Amid ChatGPT Success

Google apparently feels so pressured by Microsoft and its rapid success with Bing and the ChatGPT AI technologies that they are now panicking and trying to equip all important products with “generative artificial intelligence”.

Microsoft and OpenAI: New AI directive at Google

As reported by the US business service Bloomberg, Google recently issued a new internal directive, in the context of which an attempt is now being made to equip all important products with AI functions as quickly as possible, such as those found in ChatGPT from OpenAI and the Microsoft products that work with it come into action.

Google is said to be targeting those products that have more than a billion users. AI technology is to be installed in all of these services within a few months so as not to lose touch with Microsoft. Google recently indicated that, for example, YouTube creators will soon be able to wear different virtual outfits with the help of AI technology.

Skepticism among developers

An internal source at Google is quoted as saying that they are currently throwing “spaghetti at the wall,” so to speak. In practice, one tries to pursue as broad a range of approaches as possible in order to ultimately be successful at least in certain areas. While many developers at Google are still skeptical about the new strategy, some hope to soon be able to play a larger role with their long-running niche AI projects, they say.

At the moment, however, Google is in danger of falling behind because Microsoft and OpenAI, the start-up company behind ChatGPT, which is supported by the Redmond-based company with billions of euros, are attracting all the public attention to AI-based web technologies such as chatbots and interactive search. According to the report, the “red alert” that was declared months ago should soon result in a broad introduction of AI functions in various Google products, even if these features may not have a long lifespan.
