Google Phone app lets you record calls from unknown numbers

Google Phone app now allows users to record calls from unknown numbers. Of course the app requires consent from both parties.

Google Phone app is seemingly bringing a new feature to let users record calls automatically from unknown numbers. This new feature was first spotted by a Tipster, who also shared a screenshot from Xiaomi Mi A3.

Though, the feature from Google is still in a testing mode and may not be available on every device.

The image clearly identifies that if you activate the “Numbers not in your contact” under the “ALWAYS RECORD” section, all calls from unknown numbers will automatically be recorded. Then there’s the “Selected numbers” option under the same section, which allows you to enter those numbers only which you need the app to record the calls.

This Google Phone app’s feature is available on several Xiaomi phones, which then floated to Nokia phones. Users can also get this app from the Play Store. But it’s still for limited devices and available in a few regions.

Call recording is a handy feature, especially when you’re receiving threatening calls or disputing calls. But this feature still requires consent, and users must check their relevant local laws related to using this feature.
