In October, Apple will debut the first M3-powered Macs
In accordance with some recent pieces of information, the Cupertino-based tech company Apple will introduce its first M3-powered Macs by October 2023. The information was shared by Mark Gurman from Bloomberg. Gurman shared the latest details in his Power On newsletter.
According to Gurman’s sources, after Apple announces its iPhone 15 series in September, an event will be held in October, with the company likely focusing on new Macs with M3 chips. Previously, in January, the company introduced the new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models. In addition to this, Apple introduced three new Mac products i.e., the new 15-inch MacBook Air, Mac Studio, and Mac Pro just last month.
According to Gurman, the company will first use the M3 chips in its iMac. Besides this, the 13-inch MacBook Air, and 13-inch MacBook Pro could also be among the first receivers of the M3 chip. Besides this, the company could introduce the new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models powered with M3 chips by early next year. Gurman claims that they might feature M3 Pro and M3 Max chips.
The M3 chips are said to be based on the 3nm process of TSMC. As a result, it provides improved performance as well as power efficiency as compared to the M2 chips that were based on the 5nm process. The Taiwanese chip giant upscaled the production of 3nm chips back in December 2022.
